Chef Sarah Penrod, 5th generation Texan, star of Let’s Eat Houston and Food Network Star’s “Lone Star Kitchen” weaves tall Texas tales on her quest to resurrect her great-grandmother’s legendary chicken fried steak recipe from her family’s long-gone country café, The PK Grill .
From road tripping across Texas to collect the 100 year old cast iron skillet to learning “gravy secrets” from the old-timers in West Texas, Sarah will reveal the secrets handed down from Texan to Texan. Sarah ends with her own contribution to the legend, a zesty Texas “Caviar” with Charred Corn and Smoked Jalapeno Vinaigrette.
